Research alliances

The Leibniz Institute for Farm Animal Biology (FBN) pursues an integrated, systemic approach with its research program. Through the interdisciplinary cooperation of its institutes, it examines all levels of the biological system.

Work on the research topics is often qualified through the consultation of external expertise. Currently the FBN is working on 114 research projects in cooperation with 308 institutions from 41 countries.

The FBN also studies research questions of high scientific and social relevance in a transdisciplinary form that breaks the life sciences mould.

To find solutions to complex social challenges, the FBN is involved in research associations that ideally include representatives of other branches of society such as commercial enterprises and special interest groups in addition to classic academic research institutions.
