Forschungsinteressen
In meiner Forschung wende ich einen vergleichenden Ansatz an, um die Kognition, die Emotionen und die sozialen Dynamiken von Tieren zu verstehen. Während ich mich in meinen früheren Arbeiten mit der körperlichen und sozialen Wahrnehmung von im Zoo gehaltenen Huftieren beschäftigt habe, konzentriere ich mich derzeit auf die Prosozialität bei Schweinen und untersuche dabei Mechanismen wie Trost- und Hilfsverhalten. Durch die Kombination von Verhaltens- und physiologischen Daten möchte ich aufklären, wie soziale Säugetiere emotionale Ansteckung erleben, und dieses Wissen nutzen, um sowohl die Grundlagenforschung in der Ethologie als auch den angewandten Tierschutz voranzubringen.
