Library

The library of the Research Institute of Farm Animal Biology (FBN) is a publicly accessible specialised scientific library with a focus on farm animal science.

Its stock includes relevant specialised and fundamental literature on biology, genetics, biochemistry, physiology, animal nutrition, animal husbandry, animal breeding, animal medicine and other sub-disciplines.

The library is primarily responsible for supplying literature to the employees of the institute, but is also open to students and other interested parties. With more than 46,000 media units and access to over 9,500 subscription journals (with national licences) on the intranet, it covers a broad range of relevant literature.

Its stock can be researched through the Regional Katalog Rostock, the GVK-GBV Union Catalogue and the Electronic Journals Library.

We offer help with literature procurement, research assistance, introduction to working with literature management programs, scanning and copying services, and advice on publications with scientific content, in particular open access.
