Abstract:

Fish larvae are exposed to strong stress factors and have high mortality rates. Efficient locomotion and successful hunting are crucial for their survival and later development. This also applies to the Atlantic herring, an important fish species in cold-temperate ecosystems, which is of great importance for fisheries. In this study, the expression pattern of genes that are involved in muscle development, among other things, will be analysed in herring larvae.
