T!Raum – One Health – Bringing animals to life, transfer workshop for farm animal husbandry (RealLab-OH)

Contact: Marianne Zenk

Duration: 2024-2028

Funding: Federal Ministry of Education and Research

Abstract:

The "T!Raum OH" project aims to develop a "One Health” area in Western Pomerania where health is present at the political, operational and social levels. The implementation requires a paradigm shift and an innovative structural change involving the existing competences in the region. Within the "RealLab OH" project, a transfer workshop will be set up to develop innovative knowledge transfer formats. This aims in promoting scientific dialogue and knowledge transfer in the field of farm animal husbandry. The project will use three knowledge platforms to be developed at the FBN in order to make the One Health approach in the field of farm animal husbandry tangible. The aim of the three knowledge platforms - "Stadt-Land-Stall", "Nutztierkosmos" and "Stall der Zukunft" - is to implement the One Health concept in society through participatory, transparent knowledge and research transfer adapted to age and interest groups. The transfer project aims to provide an interactive experience of farmed animals, with their needs and requirements. In order to promote evidence-based dialogue and exchange and to define common goals in the areas of animal welfare, environmental protection and economic viability, RealLab OH aims to create a new culture of collaboration between science, business and society. The knowledge platforms will be closely networked in order to make current research approaches and results accessible to the general public via analogue and digital formats.
