|   News

On this year's World Animal Day, NDR 1 reports on the pioneering work of the Fish Growth Physiology working group at the FBN

The working group under the direction of PD. Dr. Bianka Grunow has set itself the goal of promoting animal welfare in fish research and developing animal-friendly solutions for the aquaculture industry

The radio feature (in German) focuses in particular on the development of fish cell cultures for industrial use and their cooperation with the aquaculture industry as part of the Zanderlordosis project.

With this work, the working group aims to significantly reduce animal testing and is actively committed to animal welfare in fish. The fish cell cultures offer innovative alternatives to minimize animal testing in research, while the Zanderlordosis project aims to research and improve health problems in the rearing of zander in aquaculture.
