The report was presented to the Minister for Climate Protection, Agriculture, Rural Areas and the Environment of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Dr Till Backhaus, in Schwerin. The meeting was also attended by Head of Division Kristin Romanowski, the Chair of the Strategy Group, Prof Claudia Klein, Prof Ulrich Bathmann as a member of the Strategy Group, Head of Division PD Dr Hinrich Snell from the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the Managing Director of the accompanying agency, Prof Guido Benzler, and Prof Birger Puppe from the FBN.
Following an audit, the strategy group of external experts, which was set up by Minister Backhaus, came to the conclusion that the research institute is on a promising path. According to the report, the change process has arrived at the FBN and is being lived by the entire institute. The report now available also positively emphasises the interdisciplinary cooperation and the development of research activities across various focus topics. The research topics are politically and socially relevant and the quality of the research is high.
The FBN will implement the report's valuable recommendations for the further transformation process and continue along the path it has successfully begun.
