The members of the EAAP Council and the Scientific Committee based their decision on Prof Metges' remarkable research achievements in the more than 30 years of her scientific work, with which she has advanced the productivity and profitability of the livestock industry. Her research, comprising more than 350 publications, has been recognised both nationally and internationally. As a sought-after key note speaker at international conferences, Prof Metges shares her expertise with the global scientific community.
The official and personal presentation of the award to Prof. Metges will take place at the 75th EAAP Annual Meeting in Florence on 2 September.
The European Association for Animal Sciences EAAP is an international institution whose aim is to strengthen the knowledge and dissemination of research results in the field of domestic animal breeding.
The association was founded in Paris on 8 November 1949. It currently brings together members from Europe and the Mediterranean region.
