ISEP 2025 in Warnemünde: Baltic (again)

|   News

Four days, nine invited keynote speakers, over 270 participants

Under the patronage of the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP), the Research Institute for Farm Animal Biology (FBN) successfully hosted this year's International Symposium on Energy and Protein Metabolism and Nutrition (ISEP 2025) in Rostock-Warnemünde. From 15 to 18 September 2025, researchers and practitioners from 26 countries met for lectures, poster presentations and intensive technical discussions – just a few steps from the beach.

Scientific focus

The focus was on current findings on energy and protein metabolism and nutrition in farm animals and pets with regard to climate and environmental protection, sustainability, animal welfare and animal health. The nine keynote speeches by leading scientists set the tone, while numerous contributions reflected the diversity of the field of research. The poster sessions were particularly popular, sparking lively discussions, new research questions and collaborations.

Conference venues with sea views

The plenary and parallel sessions took place at the Hotel Neptun, while the poster presentations and networking continued at the Kurhaus Warnemünde. With its return to the Baltic Sea – 22 years after the first event of this kind – ISEP 2025 in Warnemünde joined the series of international symposia that take place every three years at different locations in Europe, North and South America, combining scientific excellence with a special conference atmosphere.

Our thanks go to the EAAP, the speakers, session chairs and authors, as well as all partners and the FBN organisation team, who together contributed to the success of the conference.
