More animal welfare - a goal that is on everyone's lips. But what exactly does animal welfare mean? Is simply more space enough? What do cattle, chickens or pigs really need to live in an animal-friendly way? How can animal welfare be measured? How are animals in Germany currently faring? And what will our animal husbandry look like in the future? Experts summarised the current state of knowledge on all these questions at the Farm Animal Forum at the Research Institute for Farm Animal Biology (FBN). A scientific conference that provides an update on the development of animal welfare in Germany and invited participants to discuss these issues. The two-day conference aimed at participants from research, practice, consulting, politics, associations and authorities.

The conference was jointly organised by FBN and the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Research Institute for Agriculture and Fisheries (LFA).
