Dr Sandra Düpjan from the Research Institute for Farm Animal Biology (FBN) has been appointed to the newly structured Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Animal Welfare Advisory Board and was elected Deputy Chair at its constituent meeting on 1 July 2025.

Dr Düpjan contributes her expertise in the field of animal behaviour and animal welfare research. Topics discussed at the first meeting included the introduction of an ‘animal welfare MOT’ for new housing systems and animal welfare options for dealing with invasive species.

The new Animal Welfare Advisory Board has been appointed for five years.
