Every year, the "Nutztier-Forum" at the Research Institute for Farm Animal Biology (FBN) focuses on current pressing issues in agricultural practice and politics. In order to be able to conduct fact-based discourse, the FBN pools the findings of national and international science relating to farm animals - from cattle, pigs, goats, sheep and chickens to fish and insects.
Each issue of the Farm Animal Forum has a specific focus, which is orientated towards responsible, socially acceptable animal husbandry. In this way, the forum provides a platform to shed scientific light on the pressing sustainability issues that also guide the FBN's research. In addition to biodiversity, these include animal health and welfare as well as climate and resource protection.
The conference is jointly organised by the FBN and the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Research Institute for Agriculture and Fisheries (LFA).
