Research Group Epigenetics, Metabolism and Longevity

We are interested in the role of metabolism - epigenetic connectivity during early aging, response to stress and cognitive impairment.

We combine behavioral experiments in mice and flies with advanced mass spectrometry and biochemical methods to evaluate metabolic and epigenetic changes that contribute to the onset of aging and associated cognitive impairment.

We will relate results from model organisms to farm animals and translate the results to understand epigenetic mechanisms that reconcile metabolic performance and longevity.

In addition, we aim at new preventive approaches to increase the productive life of farm animals and a healthy human life span.
