Reproductive fitness is the basis of sustainable animal breeding.
The Institute of Reproductive Biology investigates the underlying processes of reproduction at clinical, physiological and molecular levels, considering genetic variation and different environmental conditions (management, feeding, climate).
The aim is to define reproductive phenotypes and to characterize appropriate biomarkers as new molecular targets for animal breeding, which are relevant for health and fertility and offer new criteria to assess and optimize the husbandry management and reproductive biotechnologies.
