Alvaro Lopez Caicoya, Ph.D.
Research interests
I am interested in understanding the behavior, cognition, and emotional states of animals. I have worked on the welfare and cognition of ungulates in zoos. Currently, I am focused on understanding how pigs cooperate and help each other. The objective of my research is to better understand social groups and apply better management practices for captive animals.
