The FBN appreciates the diversity of its employees and considers it an enrichment.
The most diverse people work at the FBN. They bring their different experiences and perspectives to the work and life at FBN. A team of committed employees, established in 2021, identifies needs for action and develops ideas to make the diversity of our employees visible, to overcome challenges, and thus to promote the appreciation of our diversity.
We develop a structured onboarding for international employees to facilitate their start at FBN and their integration at the institute and in their new environment. In addition, we promote networking among international staff, arrange language courses, and provide information in English on our intranet where possible. It is our conviction that a clear commitment of the FBN to diversity, and making all employees visible and valued, can prevent discrimination. In this respect, the work of the Diversity Team should also be seen as a preventive measure.
The FBN is clearly committed to the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) and does not tolerate discrimination. The anti-discrimination officer at the FBN is responsible for the complaints office anchored in the AGG in the event of discrimination on the grounds of race or ethnic origin, gender, religion or faith, disability, age or sexual identity. Her task is to accept and examine complaints. In addition, she is one of the coordinators of the Diversity Team (together with the Deputy Equal Opportunities Officer).
The Staff Council and the Equal Opportunity Officer are also available as contact persons, who can also provide support to employees who wish to file a complaint.
