Institutes
The foundation of the FBN’s interdisciplinary and systemic research approach is the close cooperation on the FBN campus of highly specialised researchers with a diversity of scientific backgrounds. Cooperation takes place in investigations of all levels of the biological systems of farm animals. Research efforts are mainly targeted at elucidating the biological basis of both the genotype and the phenotype as well as physiological factors influencing livestock performance. Disciplinary excellence is provided by six institutes and one research group.
