Genetics and Biometry: Overview

Genetics and Biometry: Overview

The research unit Genetics and Biometry with its three working groups – livestock genetics and breeding, bioinformatics and biomathematics, mouse genetics – is predominantly active in statistical modelling, the design and analysis of experiments. Thereby, the focus is on application in population genetics, statistical genomics, genetic evaluation and animal improvement programs. Several long term selected mouse lines are continuously being developed, providing valuable resource populations for investigations of growth, endurance and fertility.
